I spent some time talking about the crisis 3.5 million Americans are facing in Puerto Rico with Sue O'Connell last night on The Take. Check it out:
It's devastating to see the video footage coming out of Puerto Rico. What used to be paradise - the rivers, the rainforest, the bay, the ocean - is flooded, and it has been difficult for families to get in touch with loved ones.
We're all trying to figure out how to help. Residents are organizing daily for relief. Puerto Rican Governor Ricardo Rosselló is asking people to donate with dollars - it's difficult to get items to the island. You can donate to the American Red Cross by designating your check for "the immediate disaster relief in Puerto Rico." Other organizations include Unidos Por Puerto Rico, which was founded by Beatriz Rosselló, the First Lady of Puerto Rico, as well as ConPRMetidos, which is a Puerto Rican nonprofit that has been guiding some of the disaster relief efforts.
