From my time as the Chair of the Joint Committees on Public Health and Health Care Financing to my role now as the Chair of House Ways and Means, public health, continues to be a major priority in my work. Building healthy communities is not limited to providing access to medical care. Social determinants of health also play a vital role in shaping the health outcomes of a community. Hosted by JPNDC, join us for the Jamaica Plain CPA, which will bring together elected officials, community partners, and most importantly, YOU – the neighborhood voice! Created after the adoption of the CPA, Boston’s Community Preservation Fund offers the chance Boston neighborhood’s to leverage the funding for community based initiatives. Christine Poff, Director of the Boston Community Preservation Committee will lead a presentation on the fund to be followed by break out discussions.

Make sure your voice is heard in the conversation to think about how funds can be utilized for affordable housing, parks and open space, and historic preservation. All of which, shape the health of JP.
