BOSTON, MA – On Wednesday, December 6, 2017, the Joint Committee on Ways and Means and Executive Office for Administration and Finance will hold the annual consensus revenue hearing to solicit testimony from experts in the fields of state finance and revenue. The hearing is the first step in reaching a consensus tax revenue forecast to be used to craft a responsible fiscal year 2019 budget.
Testimony will be provided by:
- Office of the Treasurer: Treasurer Deborah Goldberg;
- Joseph Connarton, Executive Director and Actuary James Lamenzo of PERAC;
- Michael Sweeney, Executive Director of the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission;
- Department of Revenue: Commissioner Christopher Harding, Deputy Commissioner Robert McConnaughey, and Chief Economist Dr. Kazim Ozyurt
Additional testimony will be provided by representatives of the Beacon Hill Institute and the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, as well as professors of economics, public policy, and public affairs from area universities.
