On Friday, October 21, 2011, State Representative Jeffrey Sanchez (D- Jamaica Plain) will host Clinical Research Education Day and Health Fair at the Massachusetts State House from noon to 4pm in conjunction with the Massachusetts Clinical and Translational Science Institutes and Centers (Boston University Clinical and Translational Science Institute, Harvard Catalyst | The Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center, and Tufts Clinical and Translational Science Institute), Clinical and Translational Research Subject Advocates, and the ReSPECT Registry at Boston University/ Boston Medical Center.
This event seeks to raise the awareness about the importance of clinical research, celebrate the many clinical research volunteers who have participated in numerous studies across the Commonwealth, elucidate clinical trials and how they work, discuss why society continues to need clinical research, inform community members about benefits and risks of participating in clinical research as well as the connection between primary care and clinical research.
In addition, there will be a Speakers Series as well as an educational and interactive health fair that is designed to edify community members on all aspects of health, wellness, fitness, and lifestyle improvements.
This event is free and open to the public.
