I, like many in the Jamaica Plain community, am devastated to hear about the closure of the Goddard House. This establishment is currently serving 120 older adults in our community and employs over 200 people. The closure of the Goddard House comes as a complete surprise, as I was unaware the financial challenges experienced by Goddard House were so dire. I have been under the impression that the Goddard House, while not thriving financially, was facing the same concerns as the other skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers in the area. I look forward to hearing about the details of the future of the Goddard House.
