House Restores $36 Million to FY18 Budget

House Restores $36 Million to FY18 Budget

Today, the Massachusetts House of Representatives overrode the Governor's remaining budget vetoes to restore the FY18 budget to Conference Committee report spending levels. The Conference report, which passed with overwhelming, bipartisan support in the House in July, was a fiscally sound, balanced budget. The Conference Committee report is fiscally sound, balanced and passed the House in July with overwhelming, bipartisan support.

Today's overrides restored funding to important statewide programs such as Rental Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT) and Safe and Supportive Schools, as well as local programs and initiatives. Funding local initiatives indicates our intent, as Legislators, to ensure a high quality of life for all residents of the Commonwealth.
